Paying For The Wedding

I know I don’t have to tell you, but I’m going to anyway…

Weddings. Can. Be. Expensive.

The national average for what couples spend on their wedding day falls right around $30,000. 30K for just one day! Thankfully, we have some awesomely affordable wedding packages to keep your costs way more reasonable, but we know that even our budget packages can be a stretch for some families.

Of course, every wedding budget is going to be different, but the fact of the matter is that a wedding is going to leave a dent in your savings account. If you’re lucky enough to have help from outside sources, we are happy for you, but this article is still for you! What if you were getting help AND could offset some of the remaining costs? If you are paying for your wedding solo, this article is REALLY for you.

Be grateful to be a bride during the age of the internet and accessibility to side hustles. You are a connected individual, which leaves you with an endless amount of possibilities of ways to make some side cash that will help you pay down that wedding bill!

Sell Your Stuff

Let’s be clear; we are not telling you to sell everything you own. But with access to the internet, you can essentially have a “yard sale” every day of the week! Go through your home and set aside some things you no longer need. There are yard sale sites and apps like “Let Go” that allow you to post things for sale locally.

This goes for clothes too! There are lots of websites and apps that let you create a “virtual closet” for other people to shop in. What once was a treasure to you will soon go right towards the caterer or dream wedding dress you’ve been stressing about paying for!

Air BnB

Have a spare bedroom?

Did you know you don’t have to list your entire house on AirBnB to rent it? Lots of people on business trips these days are opting for a cozy room within a house to stay at versus a hotel. They like the personalization and the tips on local places to check out! Become the hostess with the mostest and use that money to pay for your own travel plans (Hello, Honeymoon!).

Get Crafty With It

Etsy is a beautiful thing for the DIY bride in so many ways. Not only can they shop there to make wedding dreams a reality, but they can SELL there if they have a crafty hand of their own! If you can knit, crochet, paint, draw, or own a Cricut machine, you can side hustle it up on Etsy to fund your big day!

Leave it to the Dogs

If you’re an animal lover, you’ll really enjoy this one!

DOG WALKING!

How about a little fresh air with some of the neighborhood pooches to:

  1. Reduce your stress level.
  2. Get your body moving.
  3. Add to your wedding fund!

Lots of great apps, like Rover, make it so easy to get yourself set up as a walker or pet sitter (can’t forget the kitties, too!). The best part is, you can do this strictly in your free time, and it’ll likely be a welcome break from wedding planning and money stressing!

Whatever your niche is, there’s probably a way to translate that into some extra funds! Brainstorm your strengths, and don’t be afraid to apply them to make the wedding of your dreams a reality!
