We were recently contacted by a bride and her family. It began as a typical inquiry about our pricing and what our packages include (you can see all of that here) and our availability.
When the bride saw that we do not host August weddings here at Spring Lake, we explained that Georgia outdoor weddings in August can get unbearable quickly. She understood, but really wanted to have sunflowers at her wedding (which are typically in season here in Georgia around August).
I loved getting the opportunity to make someone’s day by explaining that we have an award-winning florist on our staff with the hook up for flowers.
See, here at Spring Lake, we love hosting weddings, but more importantly, we love helping wedding day dreams come true. I know, it sounds like a cheesy Disney commercial, but it’s true. We know our brides dream of their wedding day for years leading up to the big day. We know that everyone has that dream element that they’ve always wanted in their wedding (my own personal wish was always to serve barbecue and have a family-picnic type feel to my wedding). It’s always a happy day for us when we can make that dream element come true.
How many times did you watch Cinderella (or even Robin Hood) as a kid (and no, this post was not sponsored by Disney. Haha)? It just wouldn’t be the same story without the carriage ride to whisk the couple away at the end.
Well, we are the only wedding venue in Georgia to offer a carriage ride around a lake to approach the ceremony in. Sure, you could grab a horse-drawn carriage in Downtown when it gets cold out, but it just isn’t the same as drifting along beside the lake in your romantic carriage ride to your vintage wedding ceremony. (Okay, so you’ll probably be riding to the ceremony with your dad, so I guess we meant to say idyllic instead of romantic.)
Just imagine rolling up to the aisle in your horse-drawn wedding cart, and stepping out to see your groom’s face light up with joy or his eyes tear with emotion.
Or, if the tradition of a horse-drawn carriage ride isn’t your thing, but you’d rather add in some vintage wedding style with our old green truck, that’s an option, too!

We are blessed to have the opportunity to work with clients to make their dreams come true and it is absolutely one of the best parts of our job.
Just check out this Facebook review from Alyson:
“Where do I even start…? When Cody & I got engaged, I knew exactly the type of wedding I wanted. (Okay, let’s be real, I’ve been planning this since I was about 10). I wanted something outdoors, but with a back-up in case it rained; I wanted something natural and beautiful; I wanted something peaceful, yet perfectly rustic; I wanted a venue where bluegrass music and cornhole and a bbq supper wouldn’t be out of place; I wanted a place where our two families could come together and celebrate love and togetherness. And I didn’t want to break the bank.
Spring Lake fulfilled every single one of my desires – and then some! They worked with us to find a plan that fit our budget and accomplished everything we wanted from the day. The Haneys were fantastic to work with. Cody and I both felt so at home the moment we arrived for our tour.
On the day of the wedding, Renty took care of every single little detail. She was such a life saver and allowed me to finally put my mind at ease and enjoy my wedding day.
I can’t recommend Spring Lake Events enough. Your kindness, attention to details, hospitality, and love for what you do are not lost. I have appreciated working with you more than I can express. Thank you so much for making my dream wedding a reality!”
See why we absolutely LOVE our job!!?!
