If life has you stuck in one place, it may have thrown a wrench in your proposal plans. With limits on where you can go and who can be present, planning a new proposal can be difficult.

If you’re looking to propose soon so you can get on with planning an amazing Georgia wedding, but don’t want to miss out on a unique and exciting engagement, a creative at-home proposal might just be the perfect option for you! We’ll put the execution on you, but we’ve got the ideas and planning down for you! We’ve compiled our top 5 favorite ways to propose at home.

At-Home Photoshoot

Tell your significant other to get dressed and ready for a photoshoot, because the two of you are having an at-home photoshoot date night. Not only is this a perfect way to disguise the proposal, your significant other will thank you later, when they look fabulous in their proposal photos. You don’t need a fancy camera for this, however if you have a friend or family member who has a nice camera and would be willing to assist in your “date night,” win, win! If you don’t have an extra set of hands, just make sure the camera has a timer. If you time it right, you’ll be able to capture your partner’s reaction- absolutely priceless! As you are taking pics, pull out the ring and prepare for an exciting look of shock. This is definitely one of our favorite ideas because it ensures you capture the moment without being suspicious.

Make a Scavenger Hunt

Do you and your partner love adventure? A scavenger hunt engagement might just be the perfect option for your proposal! This can be so fun and SO personalized. Create hints from your favorite inside jokes, favorite movies, tv shows, or books. Every step of the hunt should be 100% personalized to you and your significant other’s relationship. You have the ability to be super creative along the journey, end somewhere special with you on one knee and pop the question. One idea is to completely decorate one room of the house with fairy lights, candles, rose petals and framed photos to create a romantic scene for your proposal.

Breakfast in Bed

We are 99% sure that proposals that come with food are the best proposals. Start by getting your partner excited that you’re making breakfast and bringing it right to them. Now, create the best breakfast ever. Pancakes, crepes, waffles, eggs and bacon, and omelets are all great options for the breakfast of a lifetime. After making the meal, organize everything on a tray, including the ring and some fresh flowers. This is the perfect option if your partner is a breakfast / brunch lover!

Write It On the Wall

Are you going for a big proposal? Something to really capture your partner’s awe and attention? Go all out by writing your message in bold letters on the wall. If you’re artistic, you can really take this option to a whole new level. If you like this idea but aren’t so sure about actually painting the wall, you can cover the wall in paper before starting or cut out big letters out of cardstock to get the message across!

Make It a Game

While you and your partner may be running out of things to do, surprise them with a special date with a homemade game. A really great idea for this is creating a game around the journey of your relationship- maybe go back and forth asking each other questions about events or experiences you’ve had together. In the middle of the game, when it’s your turn to ask a question, pop THE question. This will make for a personalized and memorable experience.
