Are you getting married soon? If so, congratulations! We understand that planning a wedding can be a stressful time, so we’ve put together this blog to answer a question many couples have: how can I reduce my wedding budget?

Wedding Expenses

It’s no secret that weddings can be expensive. This can put a lot of stress on the couple or any other individuals who are chipping in for the final bill. While there are definitely ways that you can cut costs (we’ll get to those in a minute) it’s completely understandable if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the potential cost of your big day.

Below are some of our top suggestions for ways you can cut your wedding budget and still have an unforgettable day.

Virtual Invitations

Sending paper invitations can be extremely expensive. While there are some ways you can cut costs if you choose this route (such as designing the invitations yourself), completely forgoing physical invitations can be a great way to save some money.

By sending out virtual invitations, you can not only cut costs, but you can actually make things easier on yourself. Collecting RSVPs can be much easier if you choose virtual invitations, so consider if this could be the right option for spreading the word about your big day.

The Vendor Search

There are so many different vendor options when you’re planning a wedding. From a florist to your wedding cake baker, it can easily become overwhelming to think about the costs of hiring so many vendors.

One mistake that many couples make is not doing a thorough vendor search. Unless you have a specific vendor that you’re not willing to compromise on, consider taking a look in your local area and the surrounding spots to see if there’s a deal you may be able to snatch.

Your Guest List

One of the most obvious ways that you can cut wedding expenses is by paring down your guest list. While this may not be ideal (or even possible) for some couples, it is an option that you can explore. If you’ve already sent out your invitations, then you’ll probably want to take a look at the other options on this list.

By reducing your guests, you’ll also reduce expenses. Consider if there’s anyone on your list that you’d rather celebrate your wedding with privately.

Time of Year

If you haven’t already picked a date, then that’s another opportunity to cut costs.

Choosing a wedding day during the height of wedding season will most likely mean a larger price tag. By booking your wedding during another time of year, you may be able to get some discounts and things won’t be as competitive.

Picking a wedding date is important and it can be one of the simplest ways to save some money. Consider reaching out to possible vendors and seeing how their prices may change depending on the specific time of year that you utilize their services.
