The calendar is telling me that it is already time to write another letter to our nearest and dearest friends and family. Have we had that many weddings already again this year? Time flies when you are doing work you love, and this year has been no different.
We’ve met so many incredible people who have come to our humble wedding venue this year. Sharing in one of the most important days of your life is an honor that we do not take lightly. And meeting your closest and dearest people is also a benefit of our job that we cherish.
And can we also take a moment to say that while, yes, we are busy working behind the scenes to make sure your day goes off without a hitch (get it?), we are savoring your moments right along with you. We love the expressions on the groom’s face when he sees his gorgeous bride for the first time. And we might be helping you lift that 30 pound dress into the carriage, but we hear the hesitation in your dad’s voice as the two of you embark on the most important carriage ride you will ever take. And we adore every grandma who still has what it takes to get out on the dance floor and boogie with the kids.
And do you know what? At the end of the night, when you and your groom make it back to the hotel and you finally get those 15864 bobby pins out of your hair, we hope that you remember it is the small moments of life that are the most important. The event is important. The ceremony is sacred. Yes. But it is the moments of your day that will be the most cherished memories from your wedding. The way he trembled putting on your ring. The look on your mom’s face during the dance with your dad. That look your groom gave you before smashing you with cake.

So, if you got married with us this year, we hope you can take some time this week to reflect on your most cherished moments from your wedding, and even your year. Because when we finally get a second to sit down and take a breath from the busyness of life, we will be cherishing those moments right along with you. Thank you for making 2016 an incredible year for us.

We know you will be busy planning everything down to the last detail, but we hope that you are prepared for an effortless wedding day. There is just something about this place that lets all the unimportant things melt away so you can savor the important moments. Maybe it’s the lake, the open space, or the barn tucked away on the hill. We don’t know, but we do know it’s an amazing place.
