T-h-e venue for mason jars!

When you think rustic vintage whats the first thing that comes to mind? Besides the smell of your grandmothers kitchen? Mason jars, right? They have been making a comeback the last few years because we’ve rediscovered their charm and incredible versatility. Not to mention they’re super affordable. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. You can even get them in a gorgeous teal color or vintage brown. We’ve seen mason jars used all over the venue in the most creative ways and want to pass the ideas along to you.

If you’re looking for adorable vases for your table decor, they’re your find. Or if you want some charming containers to hang from the aisle sheppards hooks, they’re a perfect bet. They hold local honey or homemade jam to send home with your guests. They look great dressed down with some burlap and raffia or dressed up in lace and pearls. And to beat that, we haven’t found a flower that doesn’t look good in a mason jar yet.

And not only are the mason jars super versatile, but you can put them almost anywhere. Light the fireplace with candles inside the jars. Add some votive candles in the bottom or some floating candles at the top for a twist. Set a few out along the dock to invite your guests down to the screened-in house on the lake at dusk. Use a jar to hold the pen for your guest book or forks and knives at the reception. Use them for simple and affordable flower arrangements on your guest tables. Or use in-season fruit for an updated twist on the flowers-in-a-mason-jar idea.

If you like the idea of using them for drinking glasses, they make adorable glasses for punch or sweet tea, and are especially adorable when dressed up in cute little cupcake liner tops and paper straws. And if you want to make your own bride and groom glasses, you’ve got all kinds of options. You can etch them with “Mr.” And “Mrs.” Or add a little hot glue and script out the words “bride” and “groom.” Or, an idea we love, you can add little chalkboard signs or labels to your glasses.
