It’s only the end of January, but we are beginning to see predictions for wedding trends for 2017 emerge! What do you need to look out for when you’re planning your 2017 Spring Lake wedding? We’ve got some of the top trends here for you.

Neutrals with loud color

Soft neutral colors have been a trend for some time now. Burlap has been a favorite wedding decorating fabric for years now, and all that tan is starting to catch up to us. We’ve been seeing more vibrant colors hitting tables and dresses lately, with deep, rich colors emerging in the fall. If you want some extra personality in your wedding, a loud pop of color just might be your best bet.

Blush is still a thing

Yep. Blush. You’ve seen it everywhere the past few years. From flowers, to dresses, to guest table décor, you just can’t go wrong with blush pink. It’s soft and romantic and pairs beautifully with grey, tan, or even black suits on the men. It’s also beautifully accented with a greyish blue like we’ve been seeing emerging in floral arrangements.

Succulents

Yes! Succulents are a popular choice for wedding flowers. Succulents offer a distinct hue of green that most other woody flowers can’t provide to flower arrangements. Succulents can give a vibrant yellowish green that can sometimes even turn to an orange accent to warm up your flower arrangements, or they can go to the other end of the spectrum and offer a blue-green color to soften your flower arrangements.

Metallics

Yes! Metallic colors are still in style this year. Gold, copper, rose gold, and even pewter are popular wedding décor choices this year because of their versatility. Combining these metallic colors with bold colors gives off a fun, vibrant vibe, while adding metallic colors to a soft pastel palette (like blush) can add an air of sophistication.

We happen to see a lot of rust and aged metals here at Spring Lake, which brings us to our next point.

Blend of Old and New

If Chip and Joanna Gaines have taught us anything, they’ve taught us that there is nothing more classic than taking something new and blending it with something old for a custom, sophisticated vibe. The same principle holds true for wedding décor, too. We’ve seen our rustic outdoor wedding venue in Georgia overflowing with soft, romantic pink flowers and dripping with sparkling crystal décor. Those casual weddings are so sophisticated you would think you were invited to a wedding in the movies.

Technology

Technology has an ever-expanding influence in our daily lives and weddings are no different. Couples are using technology in some of the most creative ways during their wedding day. Of course, many couples post photos on social media throughout the day and ask their friends and family to tag any photos taken with their custom hashtag. But we’re seeing all kinds of other uses for technology on wedding day for everything from guest books, to photography slideshows, to live streaming of their wedding to long-distance relatives.
